Warriors and Legends: May FairyLoot Unboxing

I was excited for this months box as when I read the hints for the book I guessed what it was and I was right! This months box had a few different items from the last few boxes I have received.

This month received a tin of green tea. it is an exclusive blend with hints of lychee and jasmine from The Tea Leaf Co. I am in general a tea lover but unfortunately I’m not a fan of green tea. I will however give it a try.

World of Mythology in Bitesized Chunks by Mark Daniels. A book about the different mythology around the world. It looks interesting and has some nice illustrations inside. A great addition to go with the theme of this box. It should be a quick read.

A woodmark from Ink and Wonder. This is lord of the rings themed and I love it. The design and couloirs are beautiful. A bookmark made of wood is great as it is nice and sturdy and won’t fry or bend easily

A metallic feather pen from Flora’s Wonder Emporium. I always like to receive a pen you can never have too many. The ink is black and it writes like a fine liner.

An exclusive candle from In the Wick of Time. Two candles were sent out at random. I received Flame which smells of oranges. The other option was called Mist. The candles were named by the author of the featured book

A pair of Celtic socks exclusively from FairyLoot. The design is a Celtic knot pattern and the base of the socks says FairyLoot. I love the socks my only problem is that it is currently too warm to wear them.

Now to the book.

This months featured book is Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh. With a signed bookplate, bookmark and letter from the author on the back of a beautiful Flame in the Mist print.

I had this book in my Wishlist so I am excited to get reading. Flame in the Mist is a retelling of Milan set in federal Japan.

The daughter of a prominent samurai, Mariko has long known her place—she may be an accomplished alchemist, whose cunning rivals that of her brother Kenshin, but because she is not a boy, her future has always been out of her hands. At just seventeen years old, Mariko is promised to Minamoto Raiden, the son of the emperor’s favorite consort—a political marriage that will elevate her family’s standing. But en route to the imperial city of Inako, Mariko narrowly escapes a bloody ambush by a dangerous gang of bandits known as the Black Clan, who she learns has been hired to kill her before she reaches the palace.

Dressed as a peasant boy, Mariko sets out to infiltrate the Black Clan and track down those responsible for the target on her back. Once she’s within their ranks, though, Mariko finds for the first time she’s appreciated for her intellect and abilities. She even finds herself falling in love—a love that will force her to question everything she’s ever known about her family, her purpose, and her deepest desires.

Another lovely box from FairyLoot. The box also included a sample of Naondel, this months fairy scoop, this months FairyLoot bookmark and the spoiler card.

Next months theme is elementalists.
