Hold Back the Stars by Katie Khan

Sypnopsis

Carys and Max have ninety minutes of air left. None of this was supposed to happen.

Adrift in space with nothing to hold on to but each other, Carys and Max can’t help but look back at the world they left behind. A world whose rules they couldn’t submit to, a place where they never really belonged; a home they’re determined to get back to because they’ve come too far to lose each other now.

Hold Back the Stars is a love story like no other.

Hold back the stars more like hold back the tears. Admittedly I didn’t cry but that is because I have a stone heart but I can see this book making others shed tears.

The story starts with Carys and Max falling through space and discovering they have ninety minutes of air left. The story then switches between there current situation trying to get back to the ship and save themselves and flashback of how they met and the events that lead to their current situation.

It is a unique love story that will tug on your heart string. It is written in three parts and part three is where it gets really emotional. The book reads almost like a film. I did particularly like either of the main characters but I loved their story and had to keep reading to see how it ended.

I will admit I was guilty of buying this book based on its beautiful cover and luckily this is a book that can be judged by its cover.
