The Diabolic Review

I received this e-book for free off net gallery for my honest opinion. The Diabolic follows Nemesis a humanoid created to protect one person even if that means giving her own life. This book has some scenes of violence but the romance is very mild.

Sypnopsis

Diabolic is ruthless. A Diabolic is powerful. A Diabolic has a single task: Kill in order to protect. Nemisis is a Diabolic. Created to protect a galactic Senator’s daughter, Sidonia. The girl who is as much as sister as a master. There’s nothing Nemesis wouldn’t do to keep her safe. But when the power-mad Emperor summons Sidonia to the galactic court as a hostage, there is only one way for Nemesis to protect her… she must become her; hiding her true abilities and pretending to be human. As the Empire begins to fracture and rebellion looms closer, Nemesis learns there is something stronger than her deadly force: the one thing she has been told she doesn’t have — humanity. And, amdist all the danger, action and intrigue, that might be the only thing that can save her, Sidonia and the entire Empire…

I really enjoyed this book. I wasn’t sure when I started it. I thought a mindless violent beast wouldn’t make a good protagonist but Nemesis quickly showed there was a lot more to her. I loved that Nemesis finding her humanity didn’t change the fact she was deadly and she knew it. Instead it involved her discovering she was capable of feeling other emotions and choose for herself.

Sidiona was a sweet character and the person Nemesis was bounded to. She always treated Nemesis like she was more than a thing created to protect her. She saw Nemesis as a person and cared about her even when Nemesis herself didn’t.

Tyrus is a complicated character. He is the emperors heir and Nemesis love interest. He is deadly in a different way to Nemesis. He is clever and calculating. His family is ruthless and a mistake from him could lead to death.

This is a great sci-fi world full of political turmoil, secrets and back stabbing. I would recommend The Diabolic to anyone who likes a good sci-fi action packed book.

And the cover is beautiful
