Three Dark Crowns Review

Sypnopsis

In every generation on the island of Fennbirn, a set of triplets is born: three queens, all equal heirs to the crown and each possessor of a coveted magic. Mirabella is a fierce elemental, able to spark hungry flames or vicious storms at the snap of her fingers. Katharine is a poisoner, one who can ingest the deadliest poisons without so much as a stomach-ache. Arsinoe, a naturalist, is said to have the ability to bloom the reddest rose and control the fiercest of beasts. But becoming the Queen Crowned isn’t solely a matter of royal birth. Each sister has to fight for it. And it’s not just a game of win or lose . . . it’s life or death. The night the sisters turn sixteen, the battle begins. The last queen standing gets the crown.

I have a bit of a love hate relationship with this book. While I enjoyed parts of the books a couple of the characters really annoyed me and a few scenes mad me so angry.

The book was slower paced than I expected and things didn’t really get going for m until near the end.

I only liked two of the three queens.

I hated the stupid love triangle story line and the character of Joesph. He is actually a really horrible person but acts like it’s everyone else’s fault for his actions. Mirabella was really annoying and I wanted to slap her but I liked Kathrine and Arsinoe. Things didn’t come easy to them but they preserved. I can’t wait to see what happens to Kat and Arsinoe next.

The book also has a pretty map which is always a bonus I this on 3.5 stars out is 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️
